Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 August 2026
This policy explains what Tauq AI does with personal data — yours as a customer, and that of the visitors who talk to the chats you publish.
Who is responsible for what
For your own account data — your name, email, workspace and billing details — we are the controller and this policy applies directly.
For the content you put into a knowledge base and the conversations your chats collect, you are the controller and we act on your instructions. You decide what is gathered and why, and you are responsible for having a lawful basis and for telling your visitors.
What we collect
Account data: name, email address, language and timezone, and the workspaces you own or belong to.
Billing data: plan, subscription status and payment records. Card details are handled by our payment provider and never reach our servers.
Content: the files and text you add to knowledge bases, and the assistants and chats you configure.
Conversations: the messages exchanged with your chats, along with whatever identifying details a visitor gives before starting one — typically a name, an email address and a phone number.
Technical data: IP address, browser information and access logs, kept for security and to keep the service working.
Why we use it
To provide the service, generate answers, keep accounts secure, take payment, offer support, meet legal obligations, and to understand how the product is used so we can improve it.
AI providers
Generating an answer means sending the relevant part of your content and the visitor's question to a third-party language model provider. Those providers process it to return an answer and act as our processors under contract.
Do not put content into a knowledge base that you are not permitted to share with a processor outside your own organisation.
Who else sees it
We share personal data only with the providers that make the service run — hosting, email delivery, payment processing and the AI providers above — and only as far as each needs. We do not sell personal data.
We may disclose data where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
How long we keep it
Account and workspace data is kept while the account is open. Delete a workspace and its assistants, knowledge bases, chats and conversations go with it.
Some records are kept longer where the law requires — billing records in particular. Logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask for access to your personal data, for it to be corrected or deleted, for processing to be restricted, for a copy in a portable form, or object to processing. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within the period the applicable law sets.
If a visitor to one of your chats asks you to exercise these rights over their conversation, you are the one who answers; we will help you do it.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the service to function — keeping you signed in, remembering your language choice, and protecting forms against abuse. We do not use advertising cookies.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to production is restricted to the people who need it, and passwords are stored hashed. No service can promise absolute security, but if a breach affects your data we will notify you as the law requires.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards the applicable law provides for such transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced through the service or by email before they take effect.
